Corporate in-house Training

Why invest in training managers?

According to Leon Gettler (The Age 28/5/08) other professions like lawyers, accountants, engineers, doctors are aggregating knowledge, finding new and better answers to tough problems. But for managers, the dilemmas keep changing and knowledge quickly turns obsolete.  If you believe this then you'll agree with the article sub header that "business education needs to focus on better management as well as the mechanics of business."

Our business training designs focus on providing skills to current managers and leaders that will better equip them to deal with the dilemmas ahead.  We focus on the practical aspects of running a business and making key decisions, rather than the theory of running a business.  Developing managers in managing a changing business, and managing people is critical to the future success of any business.

In-house training

There are many benefits in developing corporate in-house training programs for employees, managers, and leaders, including:

  • Investing in the development of top talent and high potentials
  • Solidifying the team culture as they share a learning experience
  • Providing a common language for future communication effectiveness
  • Developing employees for leadership succession planning

There are also some downsides to in-house training compared to public training courses.  For example, there is a potential for tribal-like behaviours in the group which can create more resistance to change and learning.  It can also be difficult to call large numbers of people out of the business at the same time during a training program.  Our training design will optimise the opportunity for learning and we cater for small groups at a time.

Public training programs

Our public training courses offer some advantages to organisations:

1) The option to test our training methodology by sending two or three company representatives to 'try-out' the training before deciding on a full in-house program;

2) The flexibility to rotate divisional managers in small groups to complete the same training over a period of 12 to 18 months;

3) Participants will gain a greater depth of experience when mixed with other peers from different industries.

Our expertise

Peter Drucker said:"80% of business problems are people problems, and 80% of those are the same wherever you go!"

As communication specialists, we have extensive knowledge in 'how' people think and communicate, and our training programs incorporate the behavioural and cultural aspects that create the dynamic of great communicators, negotiators, influencers, and leaders.

We offer tailored training programs that are designed to address the underlying communication issues that are inherent in many businesses, and also ensure that participants walk away with powerful skills to take action, make more informed decisions, and drive the business forward.

The following are examples of the various areas in which we provide tailored training for:

  • Salesforce effectiveness
  • Cross-divisional communication
  • Strategic Negotiations
  • Integral Leadership
